Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Goliad County takes research-based information directly to the people and is the vital link between research and its practical application in the lives and concerns of Texans. Dedicated to improving the quality of life for the residents of Goliad County, Extension's statewide delivery system provides educational programs in agriculture and natural resources, family and consumer sciences, community development, and 4-H and youth development.
Goliad County 4-H Program
Preparing youth to be positive, contributing members of society is certainly one
of the most important tasks facing our society today. The Goliad County 4-H
program has been a key player in the field of youth development since its modest
start in 1908.
Tri Co Commercial Female Sale
The goals of this tri county effort with the Extension Livestock and Forage Committees of Bee, Goliad, and Refugio counties is to provide producers of high quality crossbred cattle operations an opportunity to present their product to the region to increase awareness and appreciation for cattle raised in and around the Tri County area. We also want to develop new markets and outlets for quality cattle. And finally to provide a local source of females to other ranchers in the Tri County area.
Goliad Area Go Texan, an outreach effort of the Houston Stock Show and Rodeo, conducts local fundraisers for it's local scholarship program, sells rodeo tickets for Rodeo Houston performances and participates in contests for a $12,000 scholarship that is rewarded to an outstanding graduating senior that lives in Goliad Co. If you are interested in attending a rodeo please contact a committee member, and try to come on Salute to Goliad day, 1st Saturday in March.
