Goliad County consists of 551,040 acres of land with 90 percent of this acreage being used as rangeland for livestock production. Vegetation growing on the range consists of many native and improved grasses as well as a wide variety of brush species. The county's 72 year rainfall average is 36.63 inches. The San Antonio River bisects the county in a north to southeastern pattern.

Goals and Guidelines
  • To serve as a non-profit organization in improving and/or maintaining wildlife populations in Goliad County for the future.
  • To serve as a conduit and aid in developing some level of wildlife awareness and management practices to every acre in Goliad County by soliciting membership and participation of every landowner and interested person.
  • To serve both hunters and non-hunters by programs and technical aid services.
  • To serve through recommendations and technical aid for food plot planting and supplementation to enhance nutritional levels for wildlife.
  • To serve through recommendations for census methods, harvest records, harvest levels, predator control where and when appropriate, and anti-poaching efforts.
  • To serve through annual membership meetings, association guidelines, demonstrations, seminars, and local technical aid in improving landowner hunter-neighbor relations.
